The Guitar Foundation of America presents its third LA-based Regional Symposium on November 9, 2013 at Central Los Angeles High School for Visual and Performing Arts in downtown Los Angeles.  This event seeks to build a sense of community through workshops and the formation of a guitar orchestra, offer educational services through adjudicated performance opportunities, and provide community outreach through free concerts open to the public.  The College Guitar Ensemble Showcase at 1pm will present professional-level students from guitar programs across the state.

The 8pm concert will feature the GFA Regional Symposium Guitar Orchestra under the direction of acclaimed American guitarist Adam Holzman of the University of Texas at Austin along with solo performers selected from the day’s auditions.  Participants are also offered two workshops presented by Vladimir Gorbach, the 2011 winner of the GFA International Concert Artist Competition as well as Pomona based guitarist, luthier, and teacher, Jack Sanders.

The Guitar Foundation of America inspires artistry, builds community, and promotes the classical guitar internationally through excellence in performance, literature, education and research.  Central Los Angeles High School for Visual and Performing Arts is located at 450 North Grand Avenue in Los Angeles, CA.  The GFA Regional Symposium will take place from 10:00 am to 8:30pm.  Registration is free for GFA members, and both concerts are open to the public free of charge.
