I'm looking to buy/upgrade the current microphones our school has, because we can't seem to get enough volume out of our current setup. From what I've read, it looks like cardioid condenser mics may be the best option. My advanced ensemble is currently 15 students (5 parts), and my other ensembles range from 20-30. Please let me know what you prefer to use.

As a classic guitar player and maker I know what it is that I am look for in a classic guitar: that warm sound that wraps around you that gives you goose bumps so that is bowls over the audience and makes them sit up and say, so this is what Chopin was talking about! But, I am old school, I started playing classic guitar in 1974 when Segovia was considered to be the greatest player of all time, not classic guitarist had to play to a 5,000 seat plus hall and a guitar had a full palette of tonal colors, it wasn't just loud.

My question to GFA member is this: what do you look for in a guitar? Is it playability or is in the range of tone colors that it can produce? I would like to know what it is.
