This coming Tuesday, June 30 at 8:00 PM EST I will be sharing a concert on YouTube with the winner of the 2020 Boston Guitar Festival international guitar competition. I will be in the second half of the virtual concert and will most likely begin at 8:20(ish) or soon after. Various videos will be shown of my arrangements of Jimi Hendrix's Freedom, Amazing Grace, my piece, the rain falls equally on all things, and conclude with my arrangement of Leonard Berstein's Clarinet Sonata for String Quartet and guitar with the Statera Quartet.

Below is the schedule of events. I do not as of yet have a link for the concert but all you need to do is go to YouTube and type in "Ben Verdery Boston Guitar Fest" or "2020 Boston Guitar Fest" and it should appear. I am also teaching a master class Wednesday should you want to hear that. My dear friends Eliot Fisk and Zaira Meneses have created a marvelous festival that I am deeply honored to be part of. In addition, I am teaching a masterclass at 2:00 EST on Monday, June 29:

Like so many of my colleagues, we will not let the pandemic keep us from holding our festivals and classes. I'm over the moon to report that my 21st Hawaii class will happen from July 2-6. It will be virtual and filled with lectures, classes, and concerts. Please look at the schedule below. My guest teaching artist this year is my dear friend, the brilliant Julian Gray. I am also thrilled to announce that on July 5th at 4:00 EST, I will be giving a talk on the evolution of my piece Scenes From Ellis Island. At its conclusion, the world-renowned virtuoso Scott Tennant and I will discuss Memories of Ellis Island, a solo work I wrote for my great friend Scott. He is currently learning it for a premiere later in the season. Scott will play excerpts and will discuss various aspects of the piece:

I hope some of you can join me virtually and or hear my new CD. During these troubled days, music and community are particularly needed.

Wishing you all much peace, love and yes, guitars!!!
