Results of the Pittaluga Competition

On Saturday, September 28, the long-awaited final round of the 46th International Competition for Classical Guitar Michele Pittaluga was held at the Theatre of Alessandria in Via Verdi. The finalists, all three well known in the world of the six strings, performed on the 18th International Conference on guitar with excellent guests, interesting topics for debate, musical moments, the delivery of the "Golden Guitars 2013", and a crowded exhibition-market of new publications, luthier makers, mechanical and items for guitar

The works for guitar and string quartet chosen for the final with skill and technique demonstrating competence and mastery of the instrument. The jury evaluated the performance and finally decided to give the first prize to Italian Emanuele Buono, according to the Thai Ekachai Jearakul the second prize and the third prize at the Russian Anton Baranov.

The jury was offered during the week the opportunity of a visit to the low hills of Monferrato wine tasting at the wineries of Strevi Marenco and an evening concert of Cherouana Lazhar (Pittaluga Winner in 2012) hosts of the City of Solero.

The Pittaluga from the last edition is the only competition in the world to have a section of the final interpretation with orchestra or string quartet and the only International Guitar Competition as a part of the World Federation of International Competitions in Geneva (WFIMC) due to proper management and the high artistic level expressed. The initiative has been awarded since 1997 the Gold Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Republic, is held with the support of the President SE Giorgio Napolitano and with the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO.
