Luthiers and Guitar Dealers
Submit your finest instrument to the Luthier's Showcase for demonstration in a live performance during the 2013 GFA Competition and Convention in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a forum for exhibitors at the 2013 GFA Vendor Expo to represent one of their guitars in a comparative performance setting. The Showcase will include up to 50 registered exhibitors (both luthiers and guitar dealers). Due to limited space, the openings are first-come/first-served. Each exhibitor may submit one guitar to be performed in succession by two talented guitarists who will each play a passage no longer than 90 seconds. The guitar played and its luthier/dealer will remain anonymous during the Showcase, and all comments will be reserved until after all instruments have been heard . To reserve space for your instrument in the Showcase, please check the "Luthier's Showcase" box when you register for the Vendor Expo. Remember, only registered exhibitors will be accepted, and the first 50 requests only, so act quickly.
2013 Luthier's Showcase performers will be Matthew Slotkin and Erol Ozsever.
The Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) presents the Luthier Showcase as a service to the guitar-building community. During the Showcase, instruments must be handled by GFA personnel and performing artists. All reasonable precautions are taken to prevent damage to any instrument handled during the Showcase. However, GFA is not responsible for any damage to any instrument placed in the care of GFA personnel before, during, and after the Luthier Showcase.
