AT NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONCERT SCENE
With the magical sounds of his guitar, ensemble ROCHER, and the duo ROSETTA, within premiere concert DESDE el ALMA, Uros Dojčinović - the "Ambassador of Serbian culture” according to the Asian magazine The Nation (Malaysia, 1992), as well as the "Yugoslav guitarist no.1” according to U.S. media (1990), marks four decades since his first solo concert.
During past 40 years, the only official double guitar doctor, Uroš Dojčinović, acting as a performer, composer, musicologist, teacher and music publicist, made more than 3,000 appearances around the world, a large number of radio and television programs, delivered hundreds of lectures and master classes, and participated in various national and international juries. He has published over 600 professional works and recorded more than 60 albums (LP-recordings, music cassettes, CD and DVD albums), for various publishing companies in Europe, America and Asia. Dojčinović was promoted to a honorary U.S. citizen.
Spectacular concert DESDE el ALMA, named after the eponymous waltz by Argentine composer Rosita Melo, which was recorded on Dojčinović’s first LP-album released by PGP-RTB, takes the listeners to the world of virtuosic and lyrical sounds, at the same time presenting superior technical skills and brilliant interpretation of the artist. All compositions created specially for this occassion are mainly inspired by folk sounds, and premierly represent a rich tonal range of works that delight the authentic ethnic sounds of the Mediterranean, the Balkans, Northern Europe and Latin America. Some have emerged from the pen of great musicans such as A. Vivaldi, N. Paganini, L. Boccherini, F. Tarrega or J. Rodrigo, while the authors of special music arrangementsare Italian F. Zuvadelli, Peruvian P. Torres, Frenchman R. Dyens, and Serbian composers D. Knežević, and P. Milojković, as well as Dojčinović him self.
It should be noted that Uroš Dojčinović is the one primarily credited for introducing the global classical guitar repertoire to our local audience, as well as that he is particularly responsible for the promotion of our domestic gitar on the international scene. He is the author of the first national guitar histories in Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia, as well as in the former Yugoslavia and Eastern Europe in general. Finally, summarizing Dojčinović’s artistic and scientific activity in past four decades it is probably sufficient to point out that he and his guitar, were consistently successfully present in all six continents.
This magical combination of strings at Dojčinović’s premiere concert in Belgrade will be accompanied by Serbian superb orchestra ROCHER, as well as with an unique Serbian Guitar Duo ROSETTA (Katarina Erić and Mary Ninković).
