"Manuel Barrueco is one of the best classical guitarists on the planet...” Audio Magazine
Grammy nominated guitarist Manuel Barrueco is internationally recognized as one of the most important guitarists of our time. His unique artistry has been continually described as that of a superb instrumentalist and a superior and elegant musician, possessing a seductive sound and uncommon lyrical gifts.
In addition to his solo and orchestral appearances in Europe, Asia, and the U. S., Barrueco has shown his versatility in performances with such artists as Plácido Domingo, Barbara Hendricks, and Emmanuel Pahud, and with non-classical guitar greats such as the jazz virtuoso Al Di Meola. He has expanded the guitar repertoire in collaboration with distinguished contemporary composers Toru Takemitsu, Roberto Sierra, Steven Stucky, Gabriela Lena Frank, Michael Duagherty, and Arvo Pärt, among many others.
Barrueco is on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory of Music, where he teaches exceptionally talented students from around the world.
