Gregg Goodhart
received his masters degree in performance from Southern Illinois University under the direction of Joseph Breznikar. He was subsequently hired to found the classical guitar program at Servite High School in Anaheim, California in 2000. Since then it has grown into a vibrant program garnering a national reputation by producing solo and ensemble competition winners, and numerous college music scholarships for students. In 2003, GFA to asked him to create and chair the Pre-College Education Committee, a role he served in for three years. He currently serves as a member of that committee. In this role he is an advocate for pre-college ed, lecturing around the country, publishing articles, consulting for schools and teachers, and doing research in that field.

Petar Kodzas, (BM University of Belgrade, MM Ithaca College, DMA Eastman School of Music). For more than 10 years Petar has chaired and developed the pre-college guitar program at the Eastman School of Music. His teaching philosophy is a combination of traditional European style, Suzuki ideas and innovative New World techniques. As a performer he is present at European and American guitar festivals and concert series. In addition to his role on the GFA Education Committee, he is also a member of the American String Teachers Association Committee on String Instruction.

Michael Quantz is Director of the GFA Education Initiative. He has many years of experience in music education and adjudication, having judged the GFA Competition, the Texas Classical Guitar Competition, and University Interscholastic League Contests, and now as the director of the GFA Young Guitarist Solo Competition. He has presented numerous guitar education clinics for Texas school districts and the Texas Music Educators Association Conference (the world's largest music teacher conference). After he received a DMA degree from the University of North Texas, the College Board and the Getty Trust selected him as a Site Coordinator for a national high school project entitled: The Role of the Arts in the High School Curriculum. Michael is also the originator/director of a hugely successful guitar ensemble festival held at the University of Texas at Brownsville.

Bill Swick holds a Bachelor of Music and a Masters of Music Education from the University of North Texas. He began his teaching career at Drake University as Instructor of Jazz Studies and Guitar. In 1982, Bill moved to Las Vegas where he began teaching at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Bill is currently the guitar instructor and music department chair at the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts (www.classroomguitar.com). Bill is currently a member of the GFA Pre-College Guitar Education Committee.

John Truitt is a career music educator, having taught instrumental music at all levels in his 40 years of service to the schools of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Co-founder of the instrumental program at Albuquerque Academy in the 1970's, Mr. Truitt also taught for the Albuquerque Public Schools and the University of New Mexico. He has performed with many noted flamenco artists including Jose Fajardo "Chuscales," Pedro Cortes, La Tati, Jose Greco, Eva Encinias, Joaquin Encinias, Teo Morca and others. Mr Truitt is a member of the GFA Pre-College Education Committee, and is currently Director of Guitar at Albuquerque Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
