The 19th Northwest Guitar Festival, is a 3 day event which will take place in Nelson April 16-18 2009. The festival will include concerts, classes and an internationally recognized guitar competition.

The Competition is open to players 18 and over from British Columbia, Alberta, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Montana and is a major showcase of the finest young players in the region.

Celso Machado Brazilian music master
Andre Thibault (member of the Juno nominated group Asza)
Dale Ketcheson (University of Lethbridge)
James Reid (University of Idaho)

The Festival will also include a youth Showcase, master classes, workshops and lectures on Early Music and Dance, sound healing with the guitar and Brazilian musical style.
