This great guitar built by Jean Rompre in 2006. It has a spruce top and madagascar rosewood back and sides.
The back is single-piece and arched. The top is radially braced with carbon fiber reinforcements.
Scale length is 650 mm. The guitar has a raised fingerboard, with the top tapering towards the upper bouts. The finish is french polish on the top, and lacquer on the back, sides, and neck. The tuners are of very high quality, with mother of pearl buttons. The bridge is scalloped ala Humphrey.
There is moderate playing wear, with several inconspicuous scratches here and there. This was Andrew Zohn's concert guitar for several years. I bought it from an ex-student of his who had purchased it from him. This is a wonderful guitar, but I've often felt that my sound and technique do not match well with its capabilities, so I'm on the waiting list for a builder I admire very much, in hopes of finding a more suitable guitar.
Price: $5,500.
