On November 4, 2015 it was announced in Ocio y Cultura that the Miguel Llobet archive has at last found a permanent home at the Museo de la Musica in Barcelona. The collection contains over 1500 documents, including 879 scores, "many manuscripts", 420 letters, and 145 photographs and numerous personal items. Among the documents is an original manuscript of Recuerdos de la Alhambra.
The collection was purchased from private collector Fernado Alonso for 235000 euros funded by the Ministry of Culture and the Institute of Culture of Barcelona following 14 years of negotiations. According to museum director Jaume Ayats, " With this collection the Museum of Music gathers the most important collection of the Catalan school of guitar, not only in terms of instruments but in manuscripts and documents." It is anticipated that the entire collection will be available for online inspection within one year.
