On October 16^th Eli Kassner, founder and Artistic Director Emeritus of The Guitar Society of Toronto, attended a ceremony presided over by The Honourable Bob Rae, where he was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. The medal was presented "By Command of Her Majesty The Queen”…"in commemoration of the sixtieth anniversary of Her Majesty’s Accession to the Throne and in recognition of your contributions to Canada.”

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians.
